Abacus tournament - Nashik..

It was fresh Saturday morning when Tanmay woke up early in the morning saying "I will get fresh... I got to go to the practice.." I could notice that excitement of appearing for the State Level Abacus tournament at Nashik. It was for the first time when he had a little bit of seriousness about the tournament. "My speed is 41... I know I can do little more better than this and I will try" were his words when he went to the breakfast room. He finished breakfast faster than usual and then straightaway ran to solve practice sheets. For easier sums he achieved speed of 61 sums in 5 mins.. it was around 4 sums more than what he solved at home. He was happy indeed. I knew he was confident! Wasn't overconfident though!!! We then went to venue KVN Naik polytechnic. There were more than 2000 students who appeared for different levels of competition of the tournament. Around 20 students IPA Pune's Baner and Pimple-Saudagar branch were there at the venue. Tournament was for 5 mins and kids came out quickly.. Tanmay had solved 41 sums. He was happy so as we!

 In the late evening his teacher Mrs. Bhavana Deo called up saying "Tanmay scored 5th rank and won the trophy!" What an excellent end for the day! There could nothing be more happier than this.


He now is aiming to National Level of Abacus tournament. I can notice that enthusiasm in him. He now wants to achieve more and is all set for the second inning of this year!!!
